Origin
The Phalaenopsis 'Yara' belongs to the family of the Orchidaceae and originates from tropical areas of Asia such as the Philippines and Indonesia. It is also found in the wild in parts of Australia. The plant is named after the Brazilian goddess of water, Yara, which means 'water lily'.

Characteristics
The Phalaenopsis 'Yara' is known for its attractive appearance with beautiful flowers. It has upright stems that gracefully bend under the weight of the numerous flowers. The flowers bloom in clusters and are white in colour with a yellowish centre. They are approximately 7.5 cm wide and can be seen all year round.

Care
Specific care is required for the Phalaenopsis 'Yara' to bloom. It needs a lot of light, but not direct sunlight. This could scorch the leaves.
