Origin
The Guzmania 'Voila' belongs to the Bromeliaceae family, commonly referred to as the Bromeliads. This family is native to Central and South America, particularly the tropical regions. The Guzmania 'Voila' owes its exotic appearance to its tropical origin.

Characteristics
The Guzmania 'Voila' is an evergreen plant and is mainly characterised by its prominently coloured bracts. These are often mistaken for flowers, but are in fact intended to direct insects to the true flowers, which are smaller and less conspicuous. The leaves of the plant form a rosette, in which water and nutrients are collected. The plant can reach a height of 40 to 60 cm and is known for its long flowering period.

Care
Taking care of a Guzmania 'Voila' requires special attention. The plant prefers a light spot, but not direct sunlight. In their natural habitat, they often grow under a canopy, so direct sunlight can cause damage. The leaf rosette, where the plant collects its water and nutrition, should regularly be filled with lukewarm water. Due to its tropical origin, the plant requires high humidity, which can be achieved by regularly misting it. For the Guzmania 'Voila', it is optimal to keep the room temperature between 18 and 28 degrees Celsius. A standard houseplant food is usually sufficient for this plant.
