Origin
The Phalaenopsis Maistro White, which is also known as the Butterfly Orchid, has its origin in the wilds of Southeast Asia. This orchid is predominantly found in the shady areas of tropical rainforests. It has been discovered in several countries including the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
Characteristics
The Phalaenopsis Maistro White distinguishes itself through its bright white flowers that hang down like a waterfall, hence the nickname 'waterfall orchid'. This orchid has a flowering period twice a year, which each time can last several months. The plant has broad leaves that are a shiny dark green. It can reach a height of approximately 60 cm.
Care
Caring for the Phalaenopsis Maistro White requires some attention. It needs a lot of light but no direct sunlight and can tolerate temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius. Watering is needed when the soil feels dry, usually once a week. However, too much water can lead to root rot. Feed the plant every two weeks with a special orchid fertiliser for optimal growth and flowering.
