Asparagus umbellatus is a plant species native to southern Africa. It naturally grows in subtropical and tropical regions and belongs to the Asparagaceae family. In its natural habitat, it is mostly found in forests and shaded locations.
Characteristics
Asparagus umbellatus is an elegant, herbaceous plant with fine, wiry stems. It forms compact clusters of narrow, needle-like cladodes. During its flowering period, small white flowers appear in umbel-shaped clusters. The plant can develop into a substantial, bushy shrub and is sometimes also referred to as Asparagus scandens.

The plant does well at normal room temperatures and requires well-draining potting soil. Regular watering and moderate fertilisation are important for healthy growth.
