Origin
Dracaena fragrans originates from tropical Africa, where it mainly grows wild in rainforests. This plant is cultivated worldwide as a houseplant due to its decorative appearance. In its natural habitat, it is typically found in shaded areas.

Characteristics
Dracaena fragrans is an evergreen plant with elongated, glossy leaves. The leaves are often dark green with lighter stripes running down the centre or along the edges. The plant has a sturdy stem that resembles a trunk, with leaves growing in rosettes from it. In the wild, mature plants can grow into small trees several metres tall. While this species is known for its fragrant flowers, these rarely appear indoors.

Care
Dracaena fragrans thrives at a steady room temperature and prefers moderately moist potting soil. It should be placed in a spot with indirect light. Excessive watering may cause root rot. The species grows slowly and requires little feeding. Regularly cleaning the leaves supports healthy growth.
