Origin
Phalaenopsis 'Fay' is a cultivated variety belonging to the Phalaenopsis genus. These plants originate from Southeast Asia, especially regions such as the Philippines, Taiwan, and Australia. 'Fay' was developed through hybridisation and selection within ornamental orchid cultivation. In the Netherlands, Phalaenopsis is widely grown for decorative purposes.

Characteristics
Phalaenopsis 'Fay' has broad, glossy green leaves that grow in a compact rosette. The plant produces long flower stems with multiple blooms per stem. The flowers are white, often with a delicate pastel blush on the lip. Under the right conditions, the flowering period can last several months. The plant typically reaches a height of 40 to 60 centimetres.

Care
Phalaenopsis 'Fay' grows best at a temperature between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius. The plant requires plenty of indirect light but does not tolerate direct sunlight. Watering is recommended when the potting soil is almost dry. High humidity is beneficial for growth. Regular fertilisation during the growing period supports healthy development.
