DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
Dypsis decaryi is a palm species native to Madagascar. In the wild, the species mainly grows on the rocky hills of the Andohahela region. Its natural distribution is limited, making the plant rare in the wild.

Characteristics
Dypsis decaryi has a distinctive, triangular trunk that is characteristic of this species. The leaves are fan-shaped and grow in three directions, creating a triangular appearance. The palm can reach a height of six to eight metres. The leaf stalks are light green and covered with a fine, powdery layer. The flowers appear in branched clusters at the base of the crown.

Care
Dypsis decaryi requires plenty of light and thrives in a sunny to partially shaded spot. The plant tolerates dry air reasonably well. Regular watering is necessary, especially during the growing season. The potting soil should be well-draining to prevent root rot. Fertilising can contribute to healthy growth.
