Philodendron 'Billietiae' 6/tray
4PHBIBP25
Origin
The Philodendron 'Pink Princess' originates from the tropical rainforests of South America. The plant belongs to the Araceae family, one of the largest families of flowering plants in the world. This variant has been cultivated and bred by enthusiasts and is not found in the wild. The species name 'Pink Princess' refers to the striking colour of the leaves.
Characteristics
The Philodendron 'Pink Princess' is remarkable for its large, glossy leaves with unique patterns in pink and green. These leaves can grow to a length of 20-50 cm and are predominantly dark green with pink markings. The plant has a bushy growth habit and can reach a height of approximately 60 cm. As with all Philodendrons, the 'Pink Princess' also produces flower clusters consisting of a large, yellow-green spathe that surrounds a cob.
Care
The Philodendron 'Pink Princess' requires bright, indirect light to optimise the colouring of the leaves. Too much direct sunlight can burn the delicate leaves. An ideal temperature for the 'Pink Princess' lies between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. The soil must be kept moist, but not very wet as this can cause root rot. The plant is generally resistant to common plant diseases, but should be regularly checked for signs of insects and other pests.
