Origin
The Elaeagnus ebbingei 'Compacta', also known as the Elaeagnus, is named after its original Dutch cultivator, Ebbinge. This plant originates from regions of Asia, including Japan and China. This makes the Elaeagnus ebbingei 'Compacta' an Asian species within the Elaeagnaceae family.

Characteristics
The Elaeagnus ebbingei 'Compacta' is a compact bush that can grow between 140 and 160 cm high. The evergreen leaves are strikingly silver on the underside, giving the plant its Dutch nickname. In the autumn, the plant produces small, white flowers that emit a pleasant, sweet smell. These scentless flowers are very popular with bees and often carry orange-red berries in the spring.

Care
The Elaeagnus ebbingei 'Compacta' grows well in both full sun and partial shade. The plant requires little maintenance and is quite resistant to diseases and pests.
