Yucca rostrata (170-200)
Product number : 5YURORS84Origin
The Yucca rostrata originates from the southwest of the United States and northern Mexico. This plant grows in dry, rocky areas and mountainous landscapes. In its natural habitat, the Yucca rostrata can withstand very severe winters with deep frost. The plant is also known as the Beaked Yucca.
Characteristics
The Yucca rostrata is an evergreen tree that can grow up to 4.5 metres tall. The plant has long, narrow, grey-green leaves that form a plume at the top of the trunk. The leaves can grow up to 60 cm long. The Yucca rostrata blooms in summer, with light yellow flowers that protrude high above the leaves on stems.
Care
The Yucca rostrata needs full sun and well-draining soil. Although the plant is drought-tolerant, the Yucca rostrata should also be watered regularly, especially during dry periods in the summer. This plant is winter-hardy, but needs protection against too much moisture during the winter months. Pruning is generally not needed, although dead leaves can be removed to improve the appearance of the plant.
