Origin
The Primula (Elatior Grp) Gold Nugget mix is a hybrid species within the Primula genus, originally originating from the mountainous regions of North Asia and Europe. They have been developed by gardeners and specialists for their striking colours and robust nature.
Characteristics
The Gold Nugget mix is known for its rich, golden-yellow flowers that present themselves in a tight cluster atop the notched, green leaves. The compact, upright growth habit provides a height of about 15 to 30 centimetres. The flowers bloom in early spring, providing a vibrant burst of colour after the winter months.
Care
Primulas prefer a location in partial shade to shade, and do well in well-draining, moist, but not waterlogged soil. They can both be grown in the garden and in pots, and need regular watering. It is important to remove the faded flowers regularly to stimulate continuous flowering. Generally, Primulas are relatively low maintenance and handle cold temperatures well, making them a popular choice for both novice and experienced gardeners.
