Origin
The Anemanthele Sirocco, also known as New Zealand windgrass, has its roots in New Zealand. It is native to many areas of this island country, particularly on rocky subsoils and in moist forests. This type of grass belongs to the Poaceae family, one of the largest and most diverse families in the plant kingdom.

Characteristics
The Anemanthele Sirocco charms garden lovers with its graceful, flexible stems and fine, feather-like leaves. The plant surprises with its colour changes: from emerald green in the spring to golden, orange and bronze tints in the autumn. It typically grows up to 1.2 metres high and just as wide, making it a noticeable presence in the garden. The flowering occurs in the summer, when soft, fluffy flower plumes appear.

Care
Caring for the Anemanthele Sirocco does not require a great deal of maintenance. The plant prefers a sunny to semi-shade location and a well-draining soil. Although the Sirocco offers drought resistance, it cannot tolerate repeated drying out of the soil. The plant can withstand pruning, but only in the early spring to promote growth. It is advisable to protect her from severe frost in the winter, as she only shows some frost tolerance.
