Origin
The Carex oshimensis 'Magic Green', also known as the Japanese sedge, finds its origin on the island of Honshu in Japan. This plant primarily grows in the mountainous areas of this location. It is a type of the Carex genus, which includes about two thousand species.

Characteristics
The 'Magic Green' differs from other Carex species by its bright green leaves that maintain their colour throughout the year. This graceful, evergreen plant reaches a height of about 30 centimetres and has a width of 30 centimetres. The plant has long, narrow, and slightly curved leaves. In May and June, small, inconspicuous brown flowers grow on the plant.

Care
The Carex oshimensis 'Magic Green' is a strong and easy to maintain plant. It performs best in partial shade or full shade and requires well-draining soil to ensure healthy growth. It is advisable to water during dry periods to keep the soil moist. Although the plant can withstand low temperatures, it may need some protection in extremely cold winters.
