Origin
The Geum rivale 'Tutti Frutti' belongs to the rose family (Rosaceae). This botanical species originates from the temperate zones of Europe and Asia, including the British Isles, Scandinavia and Russia. The plant is also referred to by a different common name.
Characteristics
Characteristic of the Geum rivale 'Tutti Frutti' are its bell-shaped, bright red flowers with striking yellow stamens. It has a creeping growth habit and reaches an average height of 25-35 cm. The foliage of this perennial plant is roughly hairy and has a deep green colour. The plant's blossoming period extends from May to July.
Care
The Geum rivale 'Tutti Frutti' prefers a location in partial shade to full sun and thrives best in a well-draining, humus-rich soil. It should be watered regularly, but does not tolerate waterlogging. An annual application of compost in the spring promotes blooming and the general health of the plant. After flowering, the plant can be pruned back to stimulate growth.
