Origin
The Agapanthus Eydori Blue is a garden plant that finds its origin in the south of Africa. This species is also known as the African Lily. The plant family that this plant belongs to is the Amaryllidaceae, which is primarily known for its flowering plants.
Characteristics
Characteristic of the Agapanthus Eydori Blue are its star-shaped, intense blue flowers that are grouped on long stems. The bloom takes place from July to September. Thanks to its evergreen leaves, this plant retains its ornamental value even outside the flowering period. With a height of about 80 centimetres, this plant can be described as relatively large.
Care
The Agapanthus Eydori Blue is a hardy plant, but it requires a sheltered spot or a winter cover in the winter to prevent the roots from freezing. The plant prefers a spot in full sun or partial shade and thrives best in well-drained soil. Regular watering during dry periods is recommended. An annual feed with fertilisers in the spring promotes blooming.
