This evergreen shrub typically reaches a height of 1 to 2 metres. Its leaves are dark green with striking yellow variegation and have a leathery texture. The leaves are elongated and glossy in appearance. In spring, inconspicuous reddish flowers appear, followed by red berries on female plants. The growth habit is compact and bushy.
Care
Aucuba japonica 'Variegata' thrives in both sun and shade, but prefers a sheltered position. The plant is tolerant of various soil types, provided the substrate is well-draining.
