Origin
Acer japonicum 'Aconitifolium' originates from Japan. This species of maple naturally grows in mountainous regions. The cultivar belongs to the Sapindaceae family. Acer japonicum has long been cultivated for ornamental purposes.

Characteristics
Acer japonicum 'Aconitifolium' is a small, slow-growing tree or large shrub. The leaves are deeply lobed. In autumn, the foliage displays striking red, orange and purple colours. In spring, small reddish-purple flowers appear.

Care
The plant prefers a position in partial shade or with filtered sunlight. Well-drained, humus-rich soil promotes healthy growth. Acer japonicum 'Aconitifolium' does not tolerate prolonged drought or waterlogging. Regular monitoring for aphids and fungi is recommended.
