Abies koreana 'Brillant' is a cultivar of the Korean fir, which originates from South Korea. This selection was developed through targeted breeding within the species Abies koreana. The plant is mainly used as an ornamental shrub in gardens and public green spaces.
Characteristics
Abies koreana 'Brillant' is a compact, slow-growing dwarf conifer. The needles are strikingly silver-green and remain on the plant throughout the year. The young shoots are noticeably light in colour, giving a fresh appearance in spring. This cultivar produces small, upright cones and eventually reaches a height of around one metre.
Care
The plant grows best in well-drained, moist soil. A position in full sun or partial shade is suitable. Abies koreana 'Brillant' prefers slightly acidic soil. Regular watering is recommended during dry periods. Pruning is generally not necessary.
