Origin
Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Pearly Swirls' is a cultivar of the Lawson cypress. The species Chamaecyparis lawsoniana originates from the west of North America, particularly Oregon and California. 'Pearly Swirls' has been developed through selective breeding within this species. This cultivar is mainly used as an ornamental plant due to its striking appearance.

Characteristics
Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Pearly Swirls' is a slow-growing conifer with a compact, bushy growth habit. The foliage is attractively scaled and conspicuously variegated, featuring white to creamy-white edges and green centres. Young shoots have a spiral growth pattern, which enhances its decorative character. This shrub typically does not exceed 1 to 1.5 metres in height. 'Pearly Swirls' retains its colour and structure throughout the year.

Care
This cultivar performs best in well-draining, slightly moist soil. A position in partial shade to full sun is recommended.
