Origin
Aucuba japonica 'Golden King' is a cultivar of Aucuba japonica, originating from East Asia, particularly Japan, Korea, and parts of China. The species belongs to the Garryaceae family. The plant was introduced to Europe as an ornamental shrub in the nineteenth century. This cultivar was developed for its decorative foliage.
