Origin
Ajuga reptans 'Atropurpurea' is a cultivar of Ajuga reptans, which belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae). The species is native to Europe and parts of Western Asia. 'Atropurpurea' has been bred for its distinctive foliage colour. It is widely used as ground cover in gardens and parks.

Characteristics
Ajuga reptans 'Atropurpurea' features striking, glossy, dark purple to bronze-coloured leaves. The plant has a low, spreading growth habit and forms dense mats by means of runners. From May to June, upright spikes of blue-violet flowers appear. The plant typically reaches a height of 10 to 15 centimetres. Care
