Origin
Carex brunnea originates from parts of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The species naturally grows in moist forests, along waterways, and in open grasslands. This plant belongs to the sedge family (Cyperaceae). In various regions, Carex brunnea is also used as an ornamental grass.

Characteristics
