Origin
Allium 'Millenium' is a relatively recent ornamental onion hybrid. The plant was developed by breeder Mark McDonough in the United States around the year 2000. This cultivar originated from crosses between various Asian Allium species. Allium 'Millenium' is used worldwide in ornamental gardens.

Characteristics
Allium 'Millenium' is a perennial that flowers in summer. The blossoms are purple-pink and grow in compact, spherical umbels. The foliage is narrow, elongated, and dark green, remaining attractive throughout the season. The plant reaches a height of approximately 30 to 40 centimetres.

Care
Allium 'Millenium' grows best in well-drained soil. A sunny position encourages flowering. The plant is hardy and requires little maintenance. Water regularly during dry periods to support growth. Old leaves can be removed after flowering.
