Origin
Hebe ochracea is a plant species native to New Zealand, where it grows in mountainous regions. It belongs to the Plantaginaceae family.
Characteristics
This plant is a compact, low-growing shrub that rarely exceeds 50 centimetres in height. The leaves are very fine, needle-like, and display a grey-green to bronze colour. Small white flowers may appear in summer. The plant tends to branch widely, often forming a dense, carpet-like structure.
Care
Hebe ochracea thrives best in well-draining soil. It prefers a spot in full sun to partial shade. This evergreen species has moderate winter hardiness. Pruning is not necessary to maintain its shape.
