Origin
Geranium nodosum originates from Southern and Central Europe. This species naturally grows in deciduous forests and shady mountainous regions. The plant belongs to the Geraniaceae family. In the wild, the species is mainly found on moist, humus-rich soils.
Characteristics
Geranium nodosum is a perennial, herbaceous plant. The flowers are light pink to lilac, with a narrow, funnel-shaped structure. The leaves are deeply lobed and have a slight sheen. The plant reaches a height of approximately 30 to 40 centimetres. Geranium nodosum flowers from June through October.
Care
This species grows best in partially shady to shady locations. The soil should be moist and well-draining. Once well-established, Geranium nodosum can also tolerate drier periods. The plant is hardy and loses its upper parts in winter. Regularly removing spent flowers will promote a longer flowering period.
