Origin
Achillea millefolium 'Terracotta' belongs to the large yarrow family. This cultivar has been developed from the species Achillea millefolium, which is originally found in Europe and parts of Asia. 'Terracotta' was selected for its distinctive flower colour.
Characteristics
Achillea millefolium 'Terracotta' is a perennial, winter-hardy plant. The flowers appear in flat-topped clusters, changing colour from yellow-orange to terracotta and soft ochre yellow. The finely divided foliage is greyish green and aromatic. The plant typically reaches a height of 60 to 80 centimetres and flowers from June to September.
Care
Achillea millefolium 'Terracotta' prefers a sunny position. The plant requires well-draining, moderately fertile soil. Excess moisture is poorly tolerated, especially during the winter months. Only a limited amount of fertiliser is needed. Regular removal of faded flower stems promotes a longer flowering period.
