DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
Campanula poscharskyana 'Stella' is a cultivar of the species Campanula poscharskyana. The species is originally from the Balkan region, particularly from areas in the former Yugoslavia. This plant belongs to the bellflower family (Campanulaceae). 'Stella' has been bred for its graceful growth habit and abundant flowering. In ornamental horticulture, this plant is valued as a ground cover or rock garden plant.

Characteristics
Campanula poscharskyana 'Stella' is a low-growing, evergreen perennial. The plant spreads by creeping and forms dense mats of green leaves. The flowers are star-shaped, bright violet-blue in colour, and usually appear from June to September. 'Stella' reaches a height of around 10 to 15 centimetres and can grow over 50 centimetres wide. The plant is frost hardy and often retains its leaves in mild winters.

Care
Campanula poscharskyana 'Stella' thrives best in a sunny to partially shaded position. The soil should be well-draining and moderately moist. Regular removal of spent flowers encourages a longer flowering period. The plant is suitable for use in rock gardens, walls and as a ground cover. Propagation is usually done by division in spring or autumn.
