Origin
The Asplenium antiquum, also known as the Bird's Nest Fern, originates from East Asia, particularly Japan, Taiwan and China. In these regions, the plant grows both in the forests and on rocks in mountainous areas.

Characteristics
The Asplenium antiquum is characterised by its green, shiny leaves which grow in a rosette. The leaves are lanceolate and can grow up to a meter long. They are long, narrow leaves, which feel smooth and have wavy edges. Unlike most other houseplants, this plant does not form flowers or visible seeds.

Care
When caring for the Asplenium antiquum, it is important to bear in mind the plant's natural habitat. The plant prefers indirect light and thrives best at a room temperature between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius. It is also important to keep the soil moist, but overwatering can cause root rot. It is therefore advisable to place the plant in well-draining soil. High humidity is appreciated; regularly spraying the leaves can contribute to this.
