Origin
The Hoya kerrii originates from Southeast Asia. The plant is naturally found in countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos. This species belongs to the Apocynaceae family. In its natural habitat, Hoya kerrii grows as a climbing plant against trees.
Characteristics
Hoya kerrii is known for its heart-shaped leaves. These leaves are fleshy, quite thick, and have a glossy surface. The plant grows slowly, especially when only a single leaf is offered. Under favourable conditions, Hoya kerrii produces small flowers in umbel-shaped clusters.
Care
Hoya kerrii requires little water and is tolerant of drought. The plant grows best in a bright spot, but not in direct sunlight. The ideal temperature is between 16 and 25 degrees Celsius. For healthy growth, a well-draining potting soil is essential. Fertiliser can be applied during the growing season.
