Origin
Dracaena fragrans Steudneri originates from the tropical regions of Africa. In the wild, the plant mainly grows in forests and on open spots. Its natural distribution is mostly in countries such as Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. This species belongs to the Asparagaceae family. Dracaena fragrans Steudneri is sometimes also referred to as Dracaena steudneri.

Characteristics
This plant has an upright growth habit with sturdy, woody stems. The leaves are glossy green, elongated, and grow in a rosette form from the stem. Leaves can reach up to 60 centimetres in length and have a striking vein structure. Dracaena fragrans Steudneri can develop into a substantial pot plant in the right conditions. In the wild, the plant may produce fragrant flowers.

Care
This plant prefers a position with indirect light. Moderate amounts of water are sufficient, allowing the potting soil to dry out partially between waterings. Avoiding an overly wet environment will prevent root rot. Regularly keeping the leaves free from dust will enhance the plant's appearance. The ideal temperature range is between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius.
