Origin
The Aglaonema 'Soems Up' is a popular houseplant that originally hails from the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and New Guinea. The plant belongs to the Araceae family and can predominantly be found in the dense rainforests of these areas.
Characteristics
The Aglaonema ‘Soems Up’ is distinguishable by its timeless and graceful leaves with a soft green colour and light veins. The plant generally grows in a shrub-like manner, and can reach a height of 50-60 centimetres. It is a slow-growing plant with oval-shaped leaves that gradually increase in size as they grow.
Care
In general, the Aglaonema 'Soems Up' requires little care. The plant does well in both bright and indirect light, but cannot tolerate direct sunlight. It has average watering needs and it is advisable to keep the soil lightly moist. The plant cannot tolerate low temperatures and performs best at room temperature. Like most tropical plants, the Aglaonema 'Soems Up' also enjoys high humidity. It is therefore advisable to place it in a room with sufficient humidity, or to add for instance, a damp brick to the pot.
