DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Alocasia zebrina is a tropical plant that was originally from the Philippines. They grow wild in the tropical rainforests there. However, the plant is now also known in many other parts of the world, mainly as a popular indoor plant.

Characteristics
The Alocasia zebrina is particularly recognisable by its large, arrow-shaped leaves and striped stems, which have given the plant its nickname 'Zebra plant'. The leaf is dark green in colour and can reach a length of up to 90 cm. Another distinctive aspect of this plant is its marked stems, which are striped white and black.

Care
The care of the Alocasia zebrina requires some attention. The plant performs best at a constant temperature between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius and is preferably placed in a location with indirect light. Too dark a location can lead to leaf loss. In terms of water requirement, the Alocasia zebrina prefers slightly moist soil, but root rot must be avoided by preventing overwatering. Finally, regular fertilisation will help the plant to stay healthy and strong.
