Anthurium andraeanum 'Sierra White' 6/tray
White

Origin
The Anthurium andraeanum 'Cirano', also known as the flamingo flower, originates from the humid, subtropical forests of South America. It is one of the many cultivars of the Anthurium andraeanum, a species of plant that primarily occurs in Colombia and Ecuador.
Characteristics
The Anthurium andraeanum 'Cirano' is known for its striking, heart-shaped flowers, often referred to as bracts. These bracts of the 'Cirano' cultivar are a bright red in colour and characterised by a yellow spadix. This gives the plant a distinctive, exotic appearance. The plant's green, glossy leaves form a beautiful contrast with the bright red flowers.
Care
Despite its exotic origin, the Anthurium andraeanum 'Cirano' does not require any special care. The plant prefers a warm and humid environment but can be maintained well in the average living room. The plant needs sufficient light to bloom, but direct sunlight should be avoided. Regular watering is essential, but the excess water must be fully drained to prevent root rot. Additionally, ensure a nutritious soil and use a light fertiliser during the growing season to stimulate optimal growth and flowering.
