Origin
The Anthurium andraeanum 'Million Flower', also known as the Flamingo Plant, has its roots in South and Central America. There it thrives in the humid, warm climates of the tropical rainforest. The plant was first discovered and described in the 19th century, and made its way to Europe through botanical gardens and plant collectors.

Characteristics
The 'Million Flower' stands out for its vibrant, heart-shaped leaves and flowers that vary from red, orange, pink and purple to white. The floral bracts, often confused with flowers, are shiny and waxy to the touch. The actual inflorescence is located on the spadix, the upright axis in the middle of the bract. The plant usually reaches a height of between 40 and 60 centimetres.

Care
The care of the Anthurium andraeanum 'Million Flower' requires attention and precision. The plant prefers a slightly moist soil and an indirect, bright light. Excessive watering or saturated soil can lead to root rot. It is also advisable to provide the plant with a nutritious soil, preferably a mixture that has been enriched with peat moss. Due to the tropical origin of the plant, an environment with high air humidity and a temperature between 20 and 28 degrees Celsius is ideal.
