Areca catechu 6/tray
Product number : 4ARCATU12Origin
The Areca catechu 6/tray, originally from Malaysia and the Philippines, is a popular ornamental palm, commonly referred to as the Betel palm in Asia. Over the years, the palm has spread to many tropical and subtropical parts of the world.
Characteristics
The Areca catechu 6/tray is recognised for its graceful, feather-shaped leaves that gracefully curve into a spectacular fan shape. The palm can reach a height of up to 2 meters. The trunk of the Areca catechu is mostly underground, with the plant essentially consisting of a cluster of stems that shoot out directly from the soil. The plant also produces small, yellow flowers and red fruits, although it very seldom does so in indoor conditions.
Care
Caring for the Areca catechu 6/tray requires some knowledge and commitment. The palm prefers a bright, indirect light location and needs regular watering. Yet, it is important that the soil somewhat dries out in between watering. The Areca catechu thrives at a constant temperature between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius. Additionally, air that is too dry may harm the plant; occasional spraying or the use of a humidifier could be beneficial.
