Origin
The Beaucarnea recurvata 6/tray, also known as the Elephant's Foot, originates from the dry forests of Central America, especially in Mexico and Honduras. The species prefers to grow on stony soils and slopes in a dry climate. Although the plant can theoretically become quite robust, in practice it rarely reaches its maximum size outdoors in the north, hence it is primarily grown as a house plant.

Characteristics
The Beaucarnea recurvata 6/tray has a striking appearance due to its bulby, almost bare trunk, adorned with a tuft of long, ribbon-like leaves at the top. The trunk stores water as an adaptation to life in dry surroundings, and can be regarded as a type of succulent. This plant grows very slowly and it can take years before it reaches its full size.

Care
The care of the Beaucarnea recurvata 6/tray is generally simple. Although the plant is drought tolerant, for optimal growth it needs regular watering and well-draining soil to prevent root rot. The plant performs best in bright, indirect light but can also survive in partially dimmed conditions. It also does not like too much change, so make sure it does not move around often.
