Origin
The Bulnesia arborea, also known as the Verawood, is a native tree of South America. It is predominantly found in the dry forests of Colombia, Venezuela and the Dutch Antilles up to the northern part of Brazil. The tree has been used by the local population for various purposes for centuries, including as firewood, building material and for medicinal purposes.

Characteristics
The Bulnesia arborea is an evergreen tree that can grow up to 20 meters high. The characteristic feature of this tree species is the dark green, long and narrow leaves that grow in pairs along the branches. Another distinguishing feature are the small, fragrant yellow flowers that grow in clusters and form an important source of nectar for bees. The tree is drought resistant and produces a dense, heavy wood, which is particularly valuable due to its hardness and durability.

Care
The care of a Bulnesia arborea is relatively straightforward given its natural adaptation to dry climates. It needs plenty of sunlight and thrives best in well-draining soil to prevent root rot.
