Origin
The Bursera fagaroides, also known as the 'fragrant bursera', is a plant species native to the dry, rocky areas of Central America and Northwestern South America. This species is part of the Burseraceae family, a family characterised by its resin-producing members.
Characteristics
The Bursera fagaroides is a small to medium shrub or tree that can grow up to 5 meters tall. The plant has a flattened or slightly rounded, irregular crown and is covered with a papery bark that peels off as it ages. Distinctive features are the triply compound, aromatic leaves and small, fragrant, white flowers that appear in late summer. The plant also produces small, oval fruits.
Care
In terms of caring for the Bursera fagaroides, it is recommended to give it full sunlight and well-draining soil. It tolerates dry conditions well but can benefit from regular watering in the summer. Offshoots can be removed to propagate. Although the Bursera fagaroides is resistant to a broad range of temperatures, it performs best in warm, dry climates.
