Origin
The Areca (chrysalidoc.) lutescens, also known as the Areca Palm, originally comes from Madagascar and the surrounding islands. The plant grows in humid places in the undergrowth of the forests. The Areca lutescens was discovered there in the 19th century by botanists due to its ornamental appearance and brought to Europe.

Characteristics
The Areca lutescens is a type of palm that can easily grow up to 2 meters tall indoors. The plant consists of several trunks from which the leaves shoot up. These leaves are feathery and shiny green in colour. Notably, the Areca lutescens has light yellow inflorescences that appear on the plant given ample light.

Care
In order to keep the plant in good condition, it is necessary to place it in a location with a lot of indirect sunlight and sufficient warmth. The soil of the Areca lutescens needs to remain moist, but should not contain any excess water. Spraying with water during the summer months is recommended in order to maintain a high humidity level. A nutrient-rich substrate contributes to optimal growth.
