DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Dypsis lutescens, also known as the Areca palm, originates from the islands in the Indian Ocean, particularly Madagascar. Over the centuries, the plant has spread to various tropical areas all over the world.

Characteristics
The Dypsis lutescens is a multi-trunk palm that can grow up to 10 metres high. The slender, graceful trunks are surrounded by feathered leaves, varying from light green to yellowish gold. The plant is known for its air-purifying qualities and is therefore often placed in homes or offices. Although palm fruits rarely ripen simultaneously, the Dypsis lutescens produces yellow fruits that turn to orange or red as they ripen.

Care
When caring for a Dypsis lutescens, it is important to provide a place with sufficient light, but avoid direct sunlight, as this can burn the leaves. The palm prefers high humidity and regular watering is essential to keep the soil moist, but not saturated. During the growth period, from spring to autumn, the palm requires additional feeding once every two weeks. Prune dead leaves back to encourage new growth and keep the plant at a consistent temperature - ideally between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius. Ensure that the roots never completely dry out.
