DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Cycas revoluta, also known as the Sago Palm, has its origin in Southern Japan and the Ryukyu Islands. Here, the plant grows in woodland areas, as well as rocky shorelines. The plant has adapted to a wide range of climates and is now spread worldwide as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks.

Characteristics
Cycas revoluta is a slow-growing palm-like plant, characterized by its hard, leathery, feathery leaves. The plant can grow up to 3 meters high. This plant develops large cones and carries male or female flowers, resulting in individual plants being male or female. Despite the leaves being a fresh green, the plant's woody trunk makes it resemble a palm tree more than a fern.

Care
The Cycas revoluta requires little care and is therefore an easy plant to maintain. The plant enjoys a sunny to semi-shade location and well-draining soil. Generally, this plant needs little water, too much water can even lead to root rot. To achieve optimal growth, it's important to fertilise the plant annually.
