Product number : 4ESLAKK30Origin
The Espostoa lanata is a cactus that originates from the highlands of Peru and Ecuador. This plant, also known as the Peruvian Old Man cactus, is primarily found in desert-like areas on mountains with altitudes ranging from 800 to 3000 metres above sea level.
Characteristics
The Espostoa lanata is a columnar, tree-like cactus which can grow up to a height of 8 metres with a silvery-white, hairy glow over its surface. It has multiple side branches that begin to grow from the base and can have up to 20 ribs. The hairiness serves to protect the cactus from intense sun radiation. The flowers are pink or white and have a delicate fragrance.
Care
In order to take care of the Espostoa lanata, it is important that the plant is well-drained to prevent rot. A location with plenty of sunlight is ideal, but the plant can also survive in light shade. In the summer, watering should be limited to once a week and in the winter, sporadic watering is sufficient. The optimal temperature for this cactus is between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius.
