DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Euphorbia canariensis is a succulent species belonging to the Euphorbiaceae family. This plant is endemic to the Canary Islands, located northwest of the African continent. Although the plant is not found outside the Canary Island range, it is extensively cultivated and appreciated for its ornamental value in arid climate zones around the world.

Characteristics
The Euphorbia canariensis, also known as the Canary Island Spurge, is characterised by its deep green, thick stems which grow in a 'candelabra' shape. The plant can reach a height of 3 meters. The trunk and branches are studded with square 'turrets', covered with small leaves that typically fall off within a few days. In response to injuries or cuts, this succulent secretes a milky sap.

Care
The Euphorbia canariensis requires little daily care. They thrive well in full sun or light shade, and they need well-draining soil to prevent root rot. The plant does not tolerate severe winters and is best placed in a sheltered spot or brought indoors in regions with cold temperatures. While the plant is drought-tolerant, regular but moderate watering helps keep the plant healthy.
