Origin
The Euphorbia lactea 'Ghost', also known as Ghost Euphorbia, originates from the subtropical and tropical regions of India. Despite this member of the Euphorbiaceae family having spread worldwide, it naturally grows in warm, humid areas.
Characteristics
The Euphorbia lactea 'Ghost' is known for its suggestive shapes and distinct pale colour palettes, ranging from white to light grey with occasional shades of pink, which gives it its 'Ghost' nickname. The plant has thickened succulent trunks that grow in fan-shaped segments, featuring smaller ridges on the trunk bearing thorns. It can grow up to 5 meters high in its natural environment.
Care
The Euphorbia lactea 'Ghost' is a sun-loving plant and benefits from plenty of light, though it will survive with less. It is a drought-tolerant plant, requiring watering to be limited to approximately once every two weeks, or when the soil has fully dried. Excessive watering can cause root rot. As the plant naturally grows in warmer climates, it should be protected against low temperatures, frost, and too much moisture. These factors can harm or even kill the plant.
