Product number : 4FILYR017
DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Ficus lyrata, also known as the Fiddle Leaf Fig, originally comes from West Africa. More specifically, the plant naturally occurs in parts of Cameroon and the Ivory Coast, where it grows in rainforests with a warm and humid climate. Despite the fact that the plant has a tropical origin, it has become very popular as a houseplant in many parts of the world.

Characteristics
The Ficus lyrata owes its alternative name to the large, bright green leaves that somewhat resemble the shape of a violin. The leaves are leathery and shiny, with a prominent vein pattern that gives the leaves a wavy effect. The plant can reach considerable heights, with some mature specimens growing taller than two metres. It's an evergreen plant, meaning it retains its attractive leaves all year round.

Care
The Ficus lyrata appreciates bright, indirect lighting and constant temperatures between 16-24 degrees Celsius. Excessive direct sun could burn the leaves. Watering should be moderate and only when the surface of the potting soil feels dry. To simulate the moist conditions of its natural habitat, these plants also appreciate high humidity. This can be achieved by regular misting or placing the plant on a tray with water.
