Origin
The Microsorum crocodyllus 6/tray is a fern species native to the swamp areas of Southeast Asia. In the wild, this exceptional plant grows in moist, warm and shady forests. Over the centuries, the fern has adapted to living in areas with high humidity, varying temperatures and seasonal rainfall.
Characteristics
The Microsorum crocodyllus 6/tray has a striking characteristic: its dark green leaves with a texture similar to crocodile skin, hence the name. It belongs to the Polypodiaceae family and is also known as the crocodile fern. The plant can reach a mature height between 40-60 cm, with fern leaves that can grow up to 50 cm long. Its unique texture gives the leaves a glossy and ribbed appearance that accentuates the vitality of the plant.
Care
The Microsorum crocodyllus 6/tray requires well-drained soil and performs best in a slightly acidic to neutral pH. It thrives well in moderate to high humidity and temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius; an environment like a terrarium would be most suitable. Despite tolerating shady natural areas, the Microsorum crocodyllus 6/tray must be exposed to indirect sunlight for optimal growth and leaf development. It requires regular, but sparing watering to prevent root rot.
