Origin
The Phalaenopsis 'Ping Pong', also known as butterfly orchid, originates from Southeast Asia and Australia. The area it originates from is characterized by high humidity and warm temperatures, conditions in which the orchid thrives. The plant is holomycotrophic, meaning it lives in symbiosis with fungi in the soil of its native region.

Characteristics
The Phalaenopsis 'Ping Pong' distinguishes itself from other Phalaenopsis varieties by its compact shape and light pink, feathered flowers. The plant is often provided in a tray of six as it remains relatively small compared to other species. The flowering period of this orchid runs from late spring to early autumn, with a peak in late summer. The plant is a perennial, meaning it stays green all year round.

Care
Despite the 'Ping Pong' being from a tropical climate, the plant is relatively easy to care for in a room environment. Ideally, it should be placed in a bright location but not in direct sunlight. The plant requires little water; watering once a week is sufficient. However, make sure that the Phalaenopsis 'Ping Pong' dislikes having wet feet; ensure that excess water can drain away. Feed the plant every month with special orchid food in the spring and summer. In the winter, feeding is not necessary. Like other orchids, the 'Ping Pong' prefers high humidity, which can be achieved by spraying the surrounding air. Move the plant as little as possible, it prefers calm conditions.
