Origin
The Philodendron elegans is a tropical plant native to South America. Originally, the plant grew in the rainforests of Brazil and has since spread to various tropical areas around the world.

Characteristics
The Philodendron elegans is marked by long, narrow leaves with incised edges that resemble those of a fern. With adequate light, the leaves turn dark green and acquire a distinctive sheen. The plant can grow up to a meter high and produces new leaves throughout the year under ideal conditions.

Care
The Philodendron elegans prefers a spot with sufficient indirect light and a constant temperature between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius. The soil needs to remain moist, but prevent the roots from standing in water. A mixture of potting soil with perlite or orchid mix is ideal for drainage. In addition, it is important to regularly give the plant some plant food during the growing season.
