Origin
The Pleomele (Dracaena) reflexa 'Song of Jamaica' finds its origin on the archipelago in the Indian Ocean, Madagascar. This type of plant is indigenous there and was later exported to other parts of the world for decorative purposes. Although the plant is now known worldwide, Madagascar remains its primary distribution area.

Characteristics
'Song of Jamaica' is a popular houseplant due to its striking, curved branches with dark green, narrow, lanceolate leaves. The plant grows in a shrub form and reaches an average height of 150 to 175 cm. These are not the only attractive characteristics, the plant also develops small, very aromatic flowers followed by orange-red berries in mature specimens.

Care
The Pleomele (Dracaena) reflexa 'Song of Jamaica' prefers a warm, humid environment accompanied by bright, indirect light. It can take some time for the plant to adjust to a new location, so it is important to keep changes in environment to a minimum. The plant has moderate watering needs, where it is important to let the soil dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.
