Origin
The Schefflera actinophylla 'Amate' originates from the tropical regions of Australia and New Guinea. This plant is commonly known as the Australian umbrella tree. Despite its exotic origin, this species has emerged in many parts of the world as a popular houseplant due to its excellent adaptability to indoor temperature and light conditions.

Characteristics
The Schefflera actinophylla 'Amate' distinguishes itself with its large, shiny, dark green leaves that grow in the shape of an umbrella, making it a striking addition against any background in the house. The mature plant can grow up to 2 meters in height. As it reaches adulthood, it develops long flower stems with red flowers, which are attractive to many types of birds and insects in its natural habitat.

Care
This plant requires relatively easy care. It will grow in indirect light, but performs best in bright, indirect light. Overwatering should be avoided as it could lead to root rot. During the growth phase, they need fertilising once every few weeks, while much less often in the winter. The Schefflera actinophylla 'Amate' also enjoys high humidity, so it is recommended to regularly mist the leaves.
